Mon, April 10, 2006 - 1:00 PMThere are things to keep in mind. The price of petroleum is almost always climbing. As it goes past $100 a barril, things will change.
Fine! But Costa Rica gets about 90% of its electriciy from renewable resources, hydro, wind and geothermal. Nicaragua gets 80% of its electricity from petroleum. Sure Costa Rica and other nearby countries can help them take up the slack but they already owe Costa Rica an incredible sum for electricity they have bought in the past. When push comes to shove, people living in Nicaragua had better have their own alt energy system in good running order!
