Building a community in Costa Rica-magical land for sale in Malpais

We are 6-year burners and moved to Malpais, Costa Rica 2 years ago to live away from the restraints that the US has put upon our daily lives. We searched and bought a 70-acre coastal farm that we are now developing and making into a community for people like us.

The community development consists of 9 lots ranging in sizes from 0.8 acre to 2 acres per lot. Although it is only 1.5 miles from the beach, the area is still remote and offers the freedom to anyone interested in green living, such as solar, rain catchments, wind power and gardening.

The land is located in Malpais (http://www.malpaisbeach.com/, http://www.malpais.net/). This area is unbelievably gorgeous and unlike any other place on earth. There are many growing international communities around and has the neighboring town of Santa Teresa, which is a booming surf town with pristine beaches.

Last December, the Manifesto gathering was held here. www.puresolv.com/manifesto. As a result, many burners and tribes are migrating down here, creating an even more unique vibe and lifestyle. The feeling of freedom is unlike anything else in the world. The ability to be in dense jungle then to jump on a quad and surf the beast break within minutes is incredible. The ocean is warm, the trees are green, and nature is abundant. You have the ability to create what you want and not be guided by others telling you rules and restrictions.

The land is situated in the valley of Malpais. The views are endless sweeping views of ancient trees, Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve and landscape that is similar to Lord of the Rings. Monkeys and parrots are everywhere and the feeling is breathtaking. The large river that runs through the property reminds us of the Amazon.

Costa Rica has no military, welcomes foreign investors and has incredibly low property taxes. It is a two hour flight to Florida and four hours to LA .

Our prices are all below 90k, some as low as 30k for smaller sizes and profits will go back into the land to build better roads, infrastructure and eco projects. This is land owned by mother earth but trusted to us. If interested, email us at martin_folb@puresolv.com for questions.

Investor/Partner Wanted for Cabina Rental

i will be in costa rica in october and am looking for 1 or 2 other investors/partners to start a small business. the vision is to build cabinas around a central communal area. but more than just lodging, the place would encourage the expression of creativity, music, dance, interchange of ideas, etc. i'd like to have instruments for guests to play, paints and canvas, morning yoga, smoothie bar, pool and ping pong tables, nightly movies, etc.

i like santa teresa, but am open to other locations. i have cash, a business plan and a few potential investors. i have been a hippie in a business suit for a number of years and have an entrepreneurial background. i have recently decided to shed the suit and give this dream a go.

if you are interested in this project or have similar ideas and need a partner/investor, email me at boylostinmusic@gmail.com
I would like a little more information on what this tribe and it's members are looking for out of Costa Rica.
I am about to undertake a very unique project in Costa rica and am looking for VERY like minded people to work with.
So before I launch into what the project is about I would like to learn about the members here to see if it will fit.

regards.

Hemp fabric has been attracting a great deal of attention because of its potential to neutralize electromagnetic waves, radioactive rays, ultraviolet rays, etc.

Hemp fabric does not generate static electricity. Since it is highly resistant to insects and has an antimicrobial effect, herbicides and insecticides are not required for its cultivation. Accordingly, the soil can be improved and it is possible to prevent ground water from being contaminated. It has been reported if one root of hemp is planted, the surrounding 30 meter area becomes electrically neutral.
From the energy perspective, hemp is a healing plant that harmonizes with the environment. It has been attracting a great deal of attention because of its potential to neutralize electromagnetic waves, radioactive rays, ultraviolet rays, etc. Hemp fabric neutralizes electromagnetic waves generated from electrical products and toxic substances. The material and its technology shall be required in many fields, such as architectural materials and health care products.
We have hemp clothing for sale and a special on our:

People who are interested in living sustainably! With the high cost of various types of "insurance" policies, what insurance is more valuable than FOOD, WATER and ENERGY security?? Those who live in a Kopali community will be assured of each of these very basic needs. Organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, spices, medicinals, teas. Clean, chemical-free drinking water. Alternative energy sources from solar, wind and/or hyrdro-electric. Minimal roads, lots of hiking trails, safe swimming holes and natural pools. In a multi-cultural, multi-generational and intentional community environment, lives can be integrated instead of fragmented. Sharing resources allows everyone to live more lightly on the Earth. Our communities are planned and designed for a true "community" lifestyle.

NOW SELLING: New 2BR Bungalows from $160K in Playa Guiones, Nosara, Costa Rica

Esperanza Development Group is proud to present Arco Iris at Esperanza in Playa Guiones, Nosara, Costa Rica with expected delivery in Winter of 2007. The project consists of 10 two-bedroom, one bath, Balinese inspired bungalows encircling a tranquil refuge of a tropically landscaped pool with a beach entry, swimming lane, waterfalls and swim-up pool bar. Spend some quiet time relaxing on your wonderfully landscaped terrace overlooking the pool; climb in one of the many hammocks and take a nap in the shade; swim some laps; spend time with the kids at the beach entry; have a daiquiri at the swim up bar or escape to the tranquility of the pool lounge complete with waterfalls, built in recliners, indigenous flowers and shady palms. Each unit is roughly 950 square feet.

For more information please call (506)-682-0615, e-mail jimboberry2@gmail.com or check us out on the web at www.esperanzadg.com

Arco Iris at Esperanza is ideally located just off the main road into and out of town which provides easy access to the beaches to north or south of the project. Liberia International Airport is located roughly two hours north and has daily direct flights to most major American hubs. All of the units include a lockable ‘owner’s closet’ allowing them to safely store personal effects such as beach chairs, towels, clothing & surfboards, enabling owners to arrive with just the basics in your suitcase. All units will come with kitchens including refrigerator, stove, kitchen sink and breakfast bar. The main office will be equipped with laundry services so that owners do not have to purchase or maintain a washer and dryer. The idea is that the owner has a maintanence-free investment and vacation home.

Buyers can choose to decorate the units themselves with furniture, or choose from one of our furniture packages available. Adjacent to Arco Iris at Esperanza, a restaurant group from Manhattan will be making its Costa Rican debut, opening with an exciting new restaurant concept for Nosara which will include a bar, dance floor, private dining/ conference room, and with live music playing on certain nights it is sure to be the spot after the sun goes down.

I'm thinking about buying a small house in Costa Rica soon and trying to determine how much I would be able to afford there. Does anyone here have experience using Costa Rican lenders for buying property there? Are the terms/rates about the same as here, or would it be better to get a loan from a US bank?

Grupo Utopia

I have lived in Costa Rica for the last five years. I founded a company here called Grupo Utopia:

http://www.grupo-utopia.com

The company specializes in High Technology and business consulting. We have recently expanded our business to include a wide variety of consulting and other services for people interested in visiting, moving to or establishing a business in Costa Rica. I blogged about it here:

http://www.grupo-utopia.com/blog/isou/archives/2005/07/doing_business.php

This forum seems like a wonderful place to establish some contacts and potential clients. If you are interested in our services, please contact us at:

info@grupo-utopia.com

We are also looking for Partners and potential "working," investors. Not interested in silent partners. This is a ground floor opportunity for people who are interested in joining and working with a dynamic "Silicon Valley," style startup with tremendous potential and outstanding Market visibility. (See the Press Page of our Main Site).

We are looking for people with consulting experience, wireless networking expertise, general business consulting or technology consulting experience and and/or an entrepreneurial spirit. We are NOT Hiring, we are looking for people who want to join the business as a partner/investor, but again, in a working role.

Spanish is prefered, but willingness to work hard, SELL the business and get out there, is more important.
